TGIF

What a week. I've had a doctors appointment, a "port placement", and a bone scan all crammed into three days. I am looking forward to accomplishing very little today and over the weekend. I noticed that they are actually showing the Chicago Bears / Washington Redskins game in Tulsa! I am a diehard Bears fan, I've had the NFL Sunday Ticket for the past few years but I decided to switch to cable this year. Needless to say I am going through some NFL withdrawals.

Couple of things

Well today I got my port installed. Really a minor procedure but it ended up taking most of my day since hospitals are so over-booked anymore. Besides a little soreness it feels almost 100%. It will make my chemotherapy much more bearable.

I was also featured the LAF's advocacy newsletter this month. You can check it out by clicking here. I think they did a really good job.

One week till D-Day

It's official my first day of chemotherapy, Ifosimide/DTIC, begin next Tuesday. We should find out after two cycles whether or not it is working. If it is working that means more chemo(woo hoo) if not it means either other chemo or a clinical trial.

Thanks to everyone for their support, e-mails, calls, letters. We are all focused on making the next years of my life memorable and to continue to help define what LiveStrong means.

Take Care,

Andrew
